For the 5thyear running, we have completed the pioneering M.A.E.S. (Movement Analysis Education Strategies) Course  in Johannesburg-  which was fully booked and very successful.

Once again, the course was accredited by SASP – South African Society of Physiotherapy.  M.A.E.S. Therapy International is pleased to have a good working relationship with SASP.

Participants gained new insights, new knowledge and clinical skills for treating children with Cerebral Palsy and similar neurodevelopmental conditions and how to provide more specific individualised treatment for each child.  They also learnt how to engage parents with this approach during day to day living. Parents were delighted and encouraged to see the progress the children made during the course.

Participants have developed a great attitude and approach through learning and practicing closely together during the 4 weeks, which was organised in 2 separate parts of 2 weeks each.

Part 1:   25 February – 8 March 2019         Part 2:   25 March – 5 April 2019

“The M.A.E.S. Therapy Course was excellent and I would highly recommend it to any therapist who is committed to developing their practice to the highest level.

I am Bobath trained and was looking for a course to ‘fill in the gaps’ for me and enable me to better treat the most complex children on my caseload, this course did this brilliantly.  It has helped me to improve my analysis skills so that I am better able to focus on the key areas to treat with each child, rather than focusing on the outcome of their problem.

The teaching was superb and designed so that each member of the group was able to build knowledge gradually and logically to a high level.  The practical sessions allowed us to make sure we put the theory into practice with good supervision and help.

I am looking forward to getting back to work and putting it all into practice”.
